TEDx Talk (given outside Seattle, October 2023)
I"'m honored to provide a testimonial for Jacquie Chandler, a remarkable speaker at TEDxWoodinville 2023, whose presentation on "ReWild Yourself in the EarthGym" was a profound call to rediscover our connection with nature.
Jacquie artfully conveyed the importance of building a relationship with the natural world, especially for those of us living in urban environments. Her concept of the EarthGym is innovative and inspiring, offering a pathway to reconnect with the earth and, in the process, rediscover parts of ourselves that we may have forgotten in the hustle of city life.

Her presentation was a beautiful blend of storytelling, practical advice, and deep ecological insight. Jacquie’s passion for the natural world and her belief in its power to heal and rejuvenate the human spirit were palpable in every word she spoke. She provided a vision and tangible steps for individuals to engage with nature in meaningful ways, thus fostering a sense of wholeness and well-being.
What made Jacquie's talk exceptional is that she emphasized that by rewilding ourselves, we not only recover lost parts of our nature but also contribute to the greater health of our planet. Her message was a compelling reminder of our interconnectedness with the world around us.

"Working in the field of spirituality in nature, I have heard many speakers talk about finding oneself in nature. What is unique about Jacquie is that she embodies the wisdom of which she speaks. As she spoke in her energetic and emotive style, I could feel each of the stories she told us. She has lived, and lives, her own rewilding, and that comes through in her speaking. She demonstrates a deep-felt passion for sharing the gift of nature as essential for each of us if we are going to live full and rich lives, as well as for the Earth where our shattered relationship is causing such harm. "When Jacquie hit the stage--the first of all us TEDx speakers--it was a va-voom moment! She was ALL IN, with her timely and wise message about nature, beautifully crafted and perfectly, energetically delivered. Ya gotta hear it--hear her!"

"Jacquie was a great pleasure to work with on the team. Loved her energy and every smile came with a hug. I've seen Jacquie work with TEDx Organizer Tanja Diamond before and the chemistry as teacher-student has always been there. The results would be amazing as Jacquie would take Tanja's coaching and put it to work on stage with finesse. Jacquie's talk about the symbiotic relationship between mankind & trees was outstanding. I'm a highly visual person and Jacquie drew me into the picture that she was painting. My favorite part was the hiking trip/melt down. For as much as this big city kid loves nature, Jacquie made me even more aware and conscientious about the partnership we share with nature. Moreso with trees. Now I won't be able to watch The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers scenes with the Talking Trees without thinking about Jacquie."

With a message that transcends backgrounds and experiences, she shed light on the incredible benefits of working out in nature, even for those who didn't grow up spending much time outdoors. From the moment Jaquie took the stage, her enthusiasm and love for the outdoors were infectious. Her warm and approachable demeanor instantly drew the audience in, creating an atmosphere of curiosity and engagement. Her relatability made her message all the more impactful, inspiring everyone to believe that it's never too late to cultivate a deep appreciation for nature.
In the end, Jaquie Chandler's TEDx talk was an invitation to rediscover the joys of the natural world and its profound impact on our well-being. Her message was not just about fitness; it was a celebration of the wonders of the outdoors and an inspiration to incorporate them into our daily routines.

"Jacquie Chandler is a masterful storyteller and powerful speaker. I have had the opportunity to share two stages with Jacquie (Thought Leader Talks Seattle and TEDxWoodinville) and she consistently works hard to not only deliver impactful presentations, but she also supports and encourages her fellow speakers as well. She has inspired me to be more mindful of the earth, both as a tourist and in my personal life, and to “rewild” myself with nature. I would love to work with Jacquie again in the future, and I’d recommend her for any stage or event—she will not disappoint!"

"To consciously see yourself in nature is to remember, recover and re-story the true nature of who you are.
Jacquie Chandler's talk was a delightful mix of personal stories and deep insights gained as a result of those experiences. It was utterly captivating.
Tour talk feels so important because of the separation from Nature we have cultivated in Western cultures. As you state, we are part of Nature which is finally acknowledged through the term of Nature Deficit Disorder. As you state, our separation from Nature hurts both us and Nature."

"Jacquie is a multifaceted individual with an impressive array of accomplishments. Her diverse background in designing and manufacturing leather clothes, PR, media, and various other roles demonstrates her versatility and expertise. During her journey, she co-created an innovative earth-based movement practice, The Earthgym, alongside a veteran dedicated to healing war wounds in a rainforest. This unique collaboration increased the connection to nature and resulted in a Nat Geo TV Show."

" Jacquie not only has a great stage presence and keeps people interested in what she's saying, but the words are pictures she paints. One that really stood out to me was "A caring currency for a sacred land". That is a statement that sums up how I feel about Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. Since she's been a designer during her life, I think she adheres to an axiom stated by Robert Schumann
“To send light into the darkness of men’s hearts--such is the duty of the artist.”
I hope to hear Jacquie in person sometime in the near future."

Jacquie Chandler’s creative journey includes; fashion design, marketing/media, Instructor, Corporate Story Coach, Airbnb Superhost, TEDx speaker and mother of 2 incredible daughters. A relocation to Lake Tahoe got her exploring the challenges of how presevation is profit. After learning how travelers will 'pay to protect' she started SustainTahoe.org. The team demonstrated the destination stewardship roadmap, built the cirriculum and now writing 3 books that will take the interested deeper and further.
TALK Summary: Sometimes the best way forward is to look around first, as some answers are hiding in plain sight (for centuries). We love nature-based destinations so much, some of them have topped Fodors NO LIST because" NATURE NEEDS A BREAK" Jacquie has been looking closely at this problem for 15 years (as a visitor, resident and founder of Sustain Tahoe.org). She feels the 'Trash Problem', is more a 'Hosting' problem. Her activism and exploration uncover indigenous relationships to the land, water, wildlife. and air that could help sustain destinations and address global environmental issues. And its been right there in our 'DNA' all along, so buckle up!
