Our Mission
To demonstrate a vision and implementation framework for how Tahoe's tourism can become a model for Destination Stewardship (Geotourism) and Responsible Travel and then Let the Future Lead.
Geographic Region Served: Lake Tahoe, California to Pyramid Lake, Nevada (Tahoe-Truckee Watershed).
Inspired by Dr Charles Goldman (Lake Tahoe's limnologist), Sustainable Tahoe was founded in 2009 to demonstrate how to host a 21st Century menu of activities that would deepen a travelers sense of place while reducing negative impacts to the environment.
